Just when I thought, it’s only Yahoo! Messenger that has the most fun emoticons, Rico Mossesgeld, a contract working guru with a very informative blog, shared some tips on how to create more Gmail emoticons aside from the generic ones.
Although they’re not as colorful or as emotional such as the crying and laughing emoticons from YM, still something that will make GTalking less of a bore, right?
Gmail’s smilies do more than express emotions. Such as hug (awwww), raise its arms up for joy, be a caterpillar, and even give the double-finger salute. All you need is a little imagination , an affinity for one-line ASCII art, and the willingness of your recipient to receive nonsensical messages. Gmail chat only works with online contacts after all.
Just one problem, I have no affinity for ASCII art. :`(

I still hope Google adds more default emoticons to GTalk and Gmail chat, so that we’ll have more opportunities to play around with them.
Yeah, more colors, please.
